Kingston Carers Network has been handed a much-needed funding boost to pay for social activities.
Skipton Building Society’s Charitable Foundation gave the New Malden-based charity £1,800 to help them with their service, which provides support, information and to full-time carers.
The donation will provide a release for its service users who spend most of their time looking after someone else, by enabling them to socialise, communicate and share experiences with others in similar situations. Richard Twigg, Skipton group finance director, said: “We’re delighted to offer our support to causes such as this, as they provide a hugely valuable community resource and rely on businesses like ourselves to help them do so.”
Kate Dudley, from Kingston Carers, said the money would pay for 12 different activities over the year including pampering sessions, trips to the theatre and summer music festivals, and a day trip to Brighton.
Other organisations can apply for funding at skiptoncharitablefoundation.co.uk.
