A public schoolboy who helped trashed a Sutton police riot ran during the student protests has walked free from court.

He pleaded guilty to criminal damage at City of Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 11.

He was given a conditional discharge by magistrates, ordered to pay £1000 compensation to the the Metropolitan Police and to pay £85 in court costs.

Sutton officers had to abandon the vehicle during the violent protests last year when the vehicle was attacked by a gang of protestors.

The demonstrators broke inside the vehicle and looted police uniforms and equipment, including body armour.
