St John Ambulance volunteers have completed another successful year of making people safe at Crystal Palace FC home games.

More than 600 volunteers and 22 ambulances were deployed for the club’s matches at Selhurst Park this season, treating 48 people and transporting four to hospital.

As well as football matches, St John Ambulance plays a huge part in providing cover for crowds at other high-profile sporting venues including Twickenham, Lords and Wimbledon.

Ann Cable, commissioner of St John Ambulance London district, said: “Our trained first aiders give up their free time every week to be the difference and make sure that first aid treatment is available to everyone who needs it at football stadia across London, and we are proud to be involved with Crystal Palace FC.”
