Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault that left a teenage girl in a critical condition in hospital.

Shortly after 6pm on Saturday evening, police were alerted to an assault on Falcon Road, near the junction with St Johns Road.

The 15-year-old female victim was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Police have made one arrest and a suspect is currently in custody at a south London police station.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called just after 6pm on Saturday May 7 to reports of an assault on Falcon Road.

"We sent an ambulance crew and a single responder to the scene, our staff treated a teenage girl and took her to hospital.”

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this assault or has any information that could assist the enquiry.
