Auriol Bowling Club has a new look this year with men and women playing side-by-side for the first time.

The women of Auriol Park Ladies and the men belonging to Auriol Bowling Club have come together to form a single mixed club after a vote conducted across all of the members.

Lionel Sellers has been elected president, which is apt as he was a founder member when the club was originally formed in 1967.

Auriol Bowling Club hosts its open day on Sunday, May 15 (11am-4pm).

Players of all ages are invited to the club’s green in Auriol Park, Salisbury Road, Worcester Park, whether they have bowled before or not.

There is no need to wear any special clothing other than flat-soled shoes or trainers. Equipment and coaching will all be provided free of charge.

If you can’t make it to the open day, there are also informal roll-up sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays each week throughout the season. For details call David Regan on 020 8337 8919 or visit auriolbowlingclub.com
