Fifteen London Ambulance workers are taking to the road for Sunday’s London Marathon to raise money for an Epsom-based charity.

The group are hoping to raise over £12,000 for MERU – which builds tailor-made equipment for children with disabilities.

MERU Chief Executive Susan Brumpton said: “The runners’ efforts are very much appreciated by our staff, our volunteers and the children we help. We wish them every success and will be cheering them on this Sunday.

“I’d urge everyone to sponsor the runners as a little bit of support can make a big difference.”

The Service receives guaranteed entry places every year in recognition of the medical support provided along the 26.6 mile route. At the weekend over 100 staff will be on duty for the event together with colleagues from St John Ambulance.
