Witnesses are being sought following the death of a man in Norbury last Thursday.

Kashmir Singh Bedesha of Portland Road, South Norwood, was injured in a disturbance on July 23.

The 54-year-old was found suffering from head injuries at the Mirch Masala restaurant in London Road, Norbury.

He was taken to Mayday Hospital, Thornton Heath where he later died. A postmortem was inconclusive.

The death is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Directorate, based at Sutton, Detective Inspector David Flood said: "We are investigating all the circumstances surrounding Mr Bedesha's death. We want to hear from anyone who was either in the restaurant or near the area in London Road, Norbury, around 10.00 pm on Sunday 23 July.

"Did you see or hear anything suspicious?"

  • Police have arrested three men aged 20, 28 and 35-years-old on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. All three have been bailed.
