A fire started in a fast food shop's deep fat fryer after its thermostat malfunctioned.
Firefighters were called to the chicken shop in Westow Hill, Crystal Palace, at about 7pm last night.
The oil in the fryer had set on fire after it overheated when the fryer's thermostat stopped working.
Firefighters put out the fire, which did not spread, with a dry powder extinguishe before draining the oil away.
