Nathaniel Clyne is set to miss his first game of the season at Coventry City on Saturday.

The right back has played every minute of the Eagles' season so far but a knock to his knee is set to rule him out of the trip to the Ricoh Arena.

The 19-year-old is just 10 appearances away from playing 100 games for Palace and his absence at the weekend will leave Julian Speroni as the only ever-present Eagles player this campaign.

"He has got a sore knee that he has had a few weeks and he is going to be a struggle for Saturday," said manager Dougie Freedman.

"It is a blow as the kid has done fantastically well for us this season."

Palace are also likely to be without midfielder Neil Danns, who is still being troubled by the back problem that forced him to miss Saturday's crucial 1-0 defeat of Middlesbrough.

"Danns will also be a struggle for Saturday," said Freedman.

"I would like to say he is 50-50 but he is probably more like 60-40 if I am honest.

"His back has been giving him problems and we do not want to rush him back."
