Julian Speroni: 6 - He had very little to do and I don't remember him having a save to make. Commanded his box well, bar one near mishap with McCarthy, but his kicking was wayward. Will make his 200th Eagles appearance against Norwich on Saturday.

Nathaniel Clyne: 6 - Switched to left back to counter the threat of Albert Adomah and did it very well, keeping the tricky winger quiet for large periods. He didn't get forward as much as he would like though.

Paddy McCarthy: 6 - Apart from a couple of lapses in concentration he had a good game but was not given too strong a test by Bristol City's front line.

Anthony Gardner: 6 - Fourth game in a row means this is the most settled centre-back partnership Palace have had all season. It's showing on the pitch too with him and McCarthy developing a good understanding. Keeping him for the season looks a shrewd bit of business from Freedman. Star Man.

Alex Marrow: 5 - It was a surprise to see him starting at right back but it proved Freedman has some tactical nous as he nullified Campbell-Ryce. However, he was a bit of rusty with his heading and his passing was dreadful throughout.

David Wright: 4 - Given the midfield holding role with Freedman dropping Garvan to the bench but he didn't excel. He tried hard in the unfamiliar position but needed to be stronger in the tackle and lost his man too many times.

Neil Danns: 5 - Had one of his frustrating games where he plays well for five minutes but then disappears for the next 20. Like the rest of the Eagles, he excelled in giving the ball away.

Darren Ambrose: 5 - Back from injury but looked off the pace and it will take him to time to get back to his best. Supplied a few good crosses but didn't seem to enjoy being on the left wing.

Wilfried Zaha: 6 - Probably Palace's most inventive player but the trouble was all his good trickery came in his own half. He started a lot of breakaways but also ended them by giving the ball back to City.

Pablo Counago: 4 - It's frustrating to see him play like he did on Saturday because when he is good he can be very good, but that seems to be once every five games. His passing was off, his control was off and Freedman admitted after he should have taken him off earlier.

Jermaine Easter: 6 - Added movement to a frontline that has severely been lacking some and made two chances for himself in the first half which he should have finished.

Subs:

Steffen Iversen (Counago, 59): 5 - Looked fitter than in recent matches and gave some urgency to Palace.

Sean Scannell (Easter, 70): 5 - Like Iversen he gave some urgency but couldn't find a breakthrough.

Calvin Andrew (Ambrose, 81): 5 - Brought on to give some height and tried to have an impact.
