Julian Speroni: 6 - Beaten easily for the first penalty but got close to the second one. They were both well-taken spot kicks though so most keepers would have struggled. Aside from that he only had one difficult save to make when he tipped Luke Moore's shot on the turn over the bar.

Nathaniel Clyne: 7 - He had Scott Sinclair in his pocket for 90 per cent of this game, not letting the former Eagles loanee get past him and sticking to him like glue. Sadly, the one time Sinclair did get the jump on him, Swansea scored. He wasn't allowed to get forward either as he stayed back to marshall Sinclair. Palace's Star Man.

Paddy McCarthy: 6 - A much better display from the captain who led his team with some stout defending. Pulled out of position a little for the first goal though and allowed Moore time to turn and shoot in the first half. Seems to be building a good understanding with Gardner though.

Anthony Gardner: 6 - Developing a good relationship with McCarthy and won a number of headers at the back as Palace kept Swansea at bay for large periods. Sometimes he looks a bit casual but I think that's just his style.

David Wright: 4 - He did well against Nathan Dyer in the first half but was torn to pieces by him in the second, ultimately conceding the first penalty with a clumsy challenge and then getting booked for tugging him back.

Owen Garvan: 4 - Has lost form and confidence in recent games and wasn't allowed any time on the ball by Swansea to pick his passes. He lost Darren Pratley for the first goal and is not the answer to the holding midfield role question at Palace.

Neil Danns: 5- Like Garvan he struggled to impose himself on the game playing alongside the Irishman in the centre of the park. He was forced to play defensively to help repel Swansea and it's not his best strength. Gave the ball away a lot too.

Andy Dorman: 4 - Freedman kept faith with the Wales international but he made need to rethink that ahead of the match with Bristol on Saturday. Dorman is severely lacking in confidence and had no impact on the game at all.

Wilfried Zaha: 5 - After a slow start he was Palace's best player for most of the first half and wasn't afraid to put himself about. He did though misplace passes when Palace were in a prominent position and was rarely seen in the second half.

Pablo Counago: 4 - Played behind Iversen but did not have the same effect he did against Coventry last weekend. He found it difficult to get on the ball and didn't track the midfield or defensive runners as much as he should have. Laid on the pass for Easter's chance though.

Steffen Iversen: 4 - He was asked to win a lot of headers and did it without complaint but when he did they rarely went to anyone. Gave away the second penalty for handball which was maybe a bit harsh but if you put your hands up then you are going to be in trouble.

Subs:

Calvin Andrew: (Dorman, 57): 5 - Worked hard on the left wing and must be in with a shout of starting ahead of Dorman now.

Jermaine Easter (Iversen, 61): 6 - Added some much-needed movement up front and wasn't afraid to shoot. Had Palace's best chance but saw it saved.

Stuart O'Keefe (Counago, 71): 5 - The youngster impressed with his willingness to want the ball and some neat passes.

Not used: Price, Davis, Barrett, Cadogan.
