Croydon Athletic's hopes of avoiding relegation have been dealt a massive blow with news they are being docked three points.
The Rams are already bottom of the Ryman Premier League table after a turbulent season that almost saw them go out of business in September.
The deduction comes after they were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their first game of the season at Folkestone Invicta.
Charlie Taylor started the match in August but was still officially under contract with Sutton United and because the Rams won 2-0, they have been docked the three points they took home.
The points have yet to be officially taken off but when they are it will leave them with just nine points this season, nine away from safety.
