Manager Jimmy Cooper hailed his Metropolitan Police side after Eddie Smith’s 71st-minute goal took them top of Ryman League Division One South on Monday.

“I am delighted,” said the Blues manager.

“We knew this was going to be one of our hardest away trips of the season and so it proved.

“Dulwich have a good mix between youth and experience so it was a difficult encounter.

“We worked very hard. The big difference was Eddie's fantastic finish although we did create the better chances.

“Dulwich threw everything at us in the last five minutes but we stood firm and saw the game through.”

Next up for the Blues is a Ryman League Championship Manager fourth round tie at Tooting & Mitcham on Wednesday night.

Cooper added: “It is a cup we want to progress in and we'll have a chat about things tomorrow.

“Today makes it another good 3 points and that's all.

“There will be some difficult games to come starting with Wednesday at Tooting. It is not a league game but we want to keep winning.”

Blues’ next three games: Jan 5 Tooting & Mitcham (a, RLC Cup fourth round), 8 Leatherhead (h), 11 Worthing (a).
