A man has been jailed for 30 months following an unprovoked attack on a customer in a pub toilet.

Graham Langley, 39, of Cressingham Grove in Sutton, attacked his victim in a cubicle at the Prince Regent pub in Sutton High Street on February 1 last year.

The attack left the 40-year-old man with a fractured cheek bone and other facial injuries.

Police arrived at the Prince Regent to find the victim, lying on the floor of the gent’s toilet, while being treated by paramedics - he was taken to St Helier Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses had seen Langley talking to the victim in the pub prior to the attack and officers found forensic evidence which linked him to the scene.

The thug was handed the 30 month prison sentence at Croydon Crown Court on December 14.

Langley was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent at a week-long hearing at the same court in November.

Detective Constable Ian Griffith, of Sutton Police, said: "This was a nasty unprovoked attack which left the victim with a fractured cheek bone but could have been far more serious.

"I would also like to thank the witnesses who also gave evidence in difficult circumstances."
