Gareth Southgate has ruled himself out of contention for the vacant Crystal Palace manager's job.
The former Palace defender was linked with a return to the club as he has been out of a job since being sacked by Middlesbrough in October 2009, concentrating instead on being a television pundit.
However, he used his Twitter page this afternoon to confirm he had not applied for the job.
He wrote: "I have not applied for any jobs, other things I want to do at present."
Rochdale manager Keith Hill and former QPR, Swansea City and Leicester City boss Paolo Sousa were both linked with the job this afternoon.
