Drivers fined
Drivers are being warned overloaded vans may cost them a hefty fine after two-Mercedes owner were taken to court. The drivers came away with fines of £200 and £450 from Croydon Magistrates for exceeding their payloads.
Half term fun
Custard pies and slapstick humour will be on the menu for young shoppers at the Drummond Centre during half term week. Nutty the Clown, Handy Andy the Juggler and Mr Twistem the Balloonologist will be appearing on various days from February 15 to 21. Catch the free fun between 11am and 4pm daily.
Sale of linen
A linen and lace sale will be held at the Save the Children shop at Cherry Orchard Road, Croydon on Wednesday, February 24. From 3pm to 6pm a range of freshly laundered tablecloths, tray clothes and napkins and mats will be available at a fraction of shop prices.
