Croydon Council have announced a newly designed website aimed at helping young people living in the borough.
The site, www.croydonyps.org.uk, was launched last November in order to provide access to information about activities and services.
It has just received a facelift with a new NHS Careers competition announced. Young people aged between 12 and 14 are encouraged to think about their future careers and produce a description of the perfect candidate for an NHS job, with the winner receiving a free Netbook.
The site also includes details of a chance to win a free place on a business, finance or law course at London's BPP University College, worth nearly £10,000.
Entrants are asked to submit a 60-second video with a 50 word summary, with the top five decided by a public vote online. An interview will then take place with each of the five to decide the winner.
Philippa Gould, of BPP, said: "The video entry is the e-generation version of a traditional personal statement.
"Instead of using paper to communicate their passion for business or law, we are giving students the chance to prove it in a way that utilises their skills to the max.
"BPP is committed to innovation and this scholarship is designed with today’s students in mind."
