Severe weather warnings have been issued for south London and Surrey as forecasters warn of another cold snap.
Temperatures are set to drop to -6C later in the week as the cold weather hits the east of England, including Greater London and Surrey.
Drivers are being warned to expect icy roads across the area throughout the week, with possible heavy snow forecast for Thursday in to Friday.
In response to warnings issued across the UK, a Met Office forecaster warned residents to be on their guard, particularly on Friday.
"Further snow showers are likely in many parts of the UK, some of these heavy and prolonged, more especially affecting northern and western areas," he said.
"Additionally, there will be a continuing risk of widespread ice affecting untreated surfaces."
The cold snap will prompt fears over a repeat of earlier this month, when thousands were left stranded by heavy snow and icy conditions.
