Julian Speroni: Showed his quality again with three outstanding saves, one of which led to Palace's second goal. The Eagles should go all out to get him to stay at the club but sadly his heart seems set on a Premiership move and no one would begrudge him it. Star Man. 9

Nathaniel Clyne: Full of running he got forward well to give width when Palace were down to 10 men and provided a sublime cross for the second goal. Him and Speroni are the only two to play every minute this season for the Eagles. 8

Claude Davis: Absolutely superb all game heading away everything that United put into the box but then he goes and makes that stupid tackle on Bogdanovic to cost Palace a point. Would have been the Eagles' star man if it wasn't for that. 7

Paddy McCarthy: Made one crucial flying header interception in the first half before trying to struggle on with his groin injury when Palace went down to 10 men. Couldn't continue though and will be missed if the injury is serious enough to keep him out for a couple of weeks. 7

David Wright: Looked assured and composed and put his body on the line with a brilliant block in the second half. Is beginning to win me over as being the best option we have at left back. 7

Alex Marrow: Is breaking up play and doing the simple things without too much fuss in the middle of the park. Moved into defence when McCarthy went off and struggled a bit alongside Davis. 6

Owen Garvan: The Irishman's potty mouth ultimately cost Palace points on Saturday (coupled with the idiotic referee). Granted he was upset at the ridiculous penalty award but he needed to be a bit more grown up about it. Misses two games now and midfield is an area Palace are very short of bodies in. 4

Neil Danns: Playing wide left before the sending off and he dispatched his penalty well. Like the rest of the midfield he was a little lost with where he was supposed to be playing in the second half but battled well. 7

Alassane N'Diaye: First start of the season to mark a surprising turnaround having seemed out of contention completely earlier in the season. He did well in a wide position and defended well with his head. There were a couple of concentration lapses though. 7

James Vaughan: Good to see him get another goal to reward him for all the hard work he was doing up front. He got back to defend as well and made some vital clearances. 7

Wilfried Zaha: A big a threat as ever and Sheffield constantly had two players around him to stop him doing his tricks. He should have scored in the first half but was lacking in confidence when through on goal and tired towards the end of the match. 6

Subs:

Stuart O'Keefe (McCarthy, 52): A surprising choice to give him his debut in a fiery match but he did well despite looking lightweight at times. 6

Pablo Counago (O'Keefe, 89): No time. 5

NOT USED: Kieron Cadogan, Lewis Price, Kieran Djilali, Jon Obika, Andy Dorman.
