A STUDENT is helping to raise vital funds for the children's unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, where her younger sister is being treated for cancer.
Charlotte White, 15 wanted to do something in return for all the support the family has received from the hospital, in helping her sister Megan,12 recover from her illness.
She has organised a sponsored fun run to take place at her school, Blenheim High School in Epsom, which she hopes will raise hundreds for the unit.
Her mother, Sarah White said: “Charlotte wanted to do something in return for all the wonderful support we as a family have received from the unit. We hope that all three of our children, including Megan if she's well enough will complete in the run, as well as our son Adam who goes to Auriol Junior School.
“There has been an amazing amount of interest from all the staff and pupils at the school and we hope to raise a significant amount of money for the hospital.”
The run will take place at the school on December 3 between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
