The girlfriend of a man accused of murdering a toddler in an alleged arson attack has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Sasha Williamson, 28, from Twickenham will appear in the Old Bailey on December 10.

Her 27-year-old boyfriend, Richard Curtis Kwakye, has spent the last few weeks in custody after being charged with murdering 19-month-old Siariah Letang from Thornton Heath.

His brother Dimitri John-Lewis, 19, from Paddington is also charged with the murder and perverting the course of justice in relation to the case.

Both men have also been charged with the attempted murder of her mother Ellisha Letang, 23, grandmother Brenda Ricketts and a four-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Mrs Letang and Mrs Ricketts both suffered life changing burns during the fire, which gutted the grandmother’s first-floor maisonette in Camberwell in the early hours of September 18.

The surviving children suffered life threatening burns, but they and Mrs Ricketts have all since been released from hospital.

Mrs Letang remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Mr Kwakye, who lives in Andover Road, Twickenham, was also charged with arson, and arson with intent to endanger life.

He will remain in custody ahead of the next hearing at the Old Bailey on January 7, 2011.

The pair’s mother, 46-year-old Josephine Nicholas, has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.
