Smokers and non-smokers are being urged to have their lungs checked as part of Lung Cancer awareness month.
Kingston Hospital diagnoses 120 new cases of lung cancer each year.
Symptoms include a cough which does not go away or repeated chest infections.
Lung cancer specialist nurse, Thora Thorhallsdottir said: "The earlier you give up smoking the better chance you have of not developing lung cancer.
"However, if you are worried and are experiencing all or some of the symptoms listed above, make an appointment with your GP to get checked out."
