Reverend Vickie Sims has made history by becoming the first female member of the Rotary Club of Coulsdon in its 82-year existence.
Her induction took place in front of members at the club’s regular Monday lunch at Chipstead Golf Club.
The Rev Sims is priest in charge at St Andrew’s Church, Coulsdon.
Club president John Turner said: “This is a very special moment in our club’s history.
“Currently around 10 per cent of the members of the eight Rotary clubs in Croydon are women and we certainly hope to induct many more ladies in the near future.”
