Investigation into roof fire at New Malden flat
The roof above a three room flat in New Malden caught fire yesterday evening.
Fire engines from Kingston and Surbiton attended the blaze after a 999 call at 7.41pm.
New Malden firefighters were "off the run" last night as a result of industrial action, unavailable to attend the fire.
Nobody was reported to have been in the flat, above a shop in Alric Avenue, when firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
