Teenage star gets call-up
An eighteen-year-old
cricket star from Thornton Heath jetted off to New Zealand last week following his selection to play for the England Under-19s cricket tour.
Michael Carberry from Beverstone Road, also plays for Cheam in the Surrey Championship and has represented Croydon Schools under 15s.
Mids first win
Old Mid-Whitgiftian rugby club climbed out of the bottom three of London
division one for the first time this season as they beat Charlton Park 22-18 at Eltham on Saturday.
Mids produced their best tactical display of the season and were largely thankful to John Broughton who kicked five penalties in an impressive display.
Kenley held
Kenley hockey club returned to league action in Surrey League division one on Saturday by sharing the points in a 2-2 draw at home with Weybridge Hawks.
Ricky Betteridge and
man- of-the-match Dan Kelly got the goals for the home team. Kenley entertain Lensbury in the league next week.
