Preparations are well underway for a November opening of Croydon's Tramlink.
Safety talks are already on the curriculum for Croydon's schoolchildren and parts of the system are expected to be on-line by the end of February for testing purposes.
Seven trams have already been
delivered to the depot in Therapia Lane and all two dozen are expec
ted to arrive by the end of May.
"It is clear that good progress is being maintained and the system is on course to open on time," said chairman of Croydon Council's finance, personnel and equalities committee, Councillor Mary Walker.
"This means we can now look beyond the construction activities to what needs to be done on the landscaping front and to ensure the vital connections to existing bus services."
London Transport bosses are unveiling their plans for bus services at a meeting on February 12.
The borough's bus liaison panel, which is made up of councillors, passengers and bus companies, will decide on consultation, feeder buses and the transport interchanges at East Croydon and Addington Village.
