Richmond IBC were beaten on three out of four rinks in a friendly with Esher BC last weekend.

Their only winning rink saw Peter Burge, Mark Dyer, David Hutchens and Martin Rice win 18-16.

There was more disappointment for Richmond on Sunday as Wey Valley won all four matches - the singles and fours at Wey Valley and a pairs and triples at Richmond - to claim maximum points.

Richmond did claim a 2-1 victory in a Surrey County Inter Club league match with Elmbridge IBC to claim 14 of the 18 league points available.

The top rink was John Farrell, Graham Dawber, Eddie Tindall & Mike Hickman beating Jim Templeman 25-17, while Peter Hickman, Adrian Mellett, Jim Burns & Brian Lawton scraped through to beat Robin Taylor (skip) 19-17 with the last wood of the game.

Terry Guntripp skipped Richmond’s other rink that only lost to Nobby Clark’s quartet by one shot.
