A survey conducted by Office Angels, a leading secretarial and office support agency, has found that more than half of employees would prefer to receive flexible benefits rather than a pay rise or promotion.
Three hundred clients took part in the survey which highlighted what employers should be offering to meet employees needs. Employees still expect to receive traditional benefits such as the pension and medical cover but additionally want a variety of less tangible benefits. These include sabbaticals and financial advice.
Paul Jacobs, Corporate Communications Director of Office Angles, said: “It will be those companies that implement evaluation procedures who'll reap the benefits of staff loyalty in 2001.”
