An attack on all Y-fronts has been launched on Chelsea Football Club’s millionaire players.
Reports this week claim a mystery person is going into the players’ changing room at the club’s training ground in Cobham and cutting holes in the Premiership stars’ designer underwear.
What is believed to have started off as a “cheeky prank” has now escalated into a regular occurrence and some of the stars, forced to constantly buy replacement underwear, are no longer seeing the funny side.
The training ground is heavily guarded by security, leading people to believe the culprit must be someone within the club with easy access to the facilities.
Midfielder Frank Lampard, 32, told a national newspaper he had his suspicions who the guilty party was.
He said: “It’s gone on for about a year. We get in to find the bum cheeks cut out of our underpants.
“It has to be one of the players. They are the only ones with access. You might get two hits in a week, then he won’t attack for a month or so.
“I’ve a good idea who it is but wouldn’t dream of making accusations until I have proof.
“It’s costing a fortune in designer underwear.”
Chelsea moved their training ground to Cobham in 2004.
An insider told the News of the World: “It was a bit of a laugh but now the lads are a bit cheesed off.
“There’s hardly any holes in our defence - so it’s a shame the same can’t be said of our underpants.”
