Julian Speroni: Made some crucial saves in the second half that kept Palace ahead and commanded his box with his usual authority. 8
Nathaniel Clyne: Struggled to cope with N'Guessan and did not get forward from right back to attack enough. 6
Paddy McCarthy: Captain Paddy made some fantastic blocks and was very vocal in his leading of the team. Has the making of a great skipper. 8
Claude Davis: Poor mistake for Leicester's second goal and it wasn't his first of the game. Faces a fight to keep his place ahead of Barrett. 6
Julian Bennett: His first game since Boxing Day 2008 but was fully committed and looks like a great addition to the squad. 8
Owen Garvan: You could see why Burley wanted him so much, he can pass and tackle. His reading of the game was pretty good too. 8
Andy Dorman: Partnership with Garvan in the middle of the park had the makings of being a good one. Played some great passes. 8
Darren Ambrose: Off-and-running in the scoring charts again and looks like he could flourish with Garvan and Dorman in the side. Tired badly second half. 8
Kieron Cadogan: Had a massive hand in the second and third goals and grasped his chance with both hands. Like a lot of others he tired second half though and went off. Man of the match. 9
Wilfried Zaha: What a talent. Took his goal like he has been playing professional football for decades and gave the City defence a lot of problems first half before disappearing after the break. 9
Alan Lee: Scored on the opening day of the season for the second year in a row and played with his usual work rate. Suffered a blow to the face first half but played on. 8
Subs:
Calvin Andrew (Lee, 63): Tried hard but really wasn't very good at holding the ball up. 6
Alassane N'Diaye (Cadogan, 63): Ran around a lot in his usual way but didn't really do anything. 6
Kieran Djilali (Zaha, 77): Made a nuisance of himself which was what Palace needed in the final few minutes. 7
