Labour MP Malcolm Wicks got on his bike and went the extra mile for a24-hour sponsored cyclethon last week.
The Croydon North MP was joined by Seeta Indrani, who plays WPC NorikaDatta in The Bill, and helped raise £3,000 for "Lock and Glow"- a London-wide Help the Aged campaign.
Starting at 8.30am on Tuesday, Malcolm and his team covered more than1,000 kilometres - roughly the distance from Land's End to Johno' Groat's.
Mr Wicks said: "Lock and Glow will support older London residentswith practical advice about both warmth and security issues."
As part of the campaign, thousands of free room thermometers are beinggiven away.
