In your Green News section (February 22, page 9) you report that a fish and chip supper night was being held to raise money to protect local birds.
I find it strange that the organisers want to support one group of animals by eating the carcasses of another group.
Do the people who run these events think birds are somehow superior to fish or would they eat chicken and chips at these functions?
Might I suggest that some joined-up thinking is in order so that respect is shown for all creatures.
