A woman in her 30s was hit by a car in Milbourne Lane, Esher, at about 8.15am, on Wednesday, June 23.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said three police cars attended the scene after receiving reports a white Seat Alhambra had collided with the pedestrian, who only sustained minor injuries and did not need hospital treatment.

One resident in the road, who did not wish to be named, said: “There are two schools along our road and the traffic at that time in the morning makes it very hard for cars leaving their drives, or even progressing along the road, to see pedestrians near them.

“Since the double yellow lines were painted along Claremont Lane, it has only exacerbated things. I understand the woman in this instance was not badly hurt, but it wouldn’t surprise me if a more serious accidents happens along there in the morning if parents in a hurry keep using that road so recklessly.”
