A car crashed into a lamppost on Malden Road last night, turning the car over and smashing the lamppost to the ground.
The driver was believed to be unhurt and after escaping from the wreckage he was seen running away from the scene with a police officer chasing after him.
The crash happened at around 8.45pm and police, fire and ambulance services were all called to the scene.
