New Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish tells reporter Graham Moody why he chose to support the club and remembers his first game.

Graham Moody: How long have you been a Palace fan?

Steve Parish: "Ever since I can remember.

"I asked my dad when I was four, I think, who do I support?

"He said I could support Millwall or Palace as that was in the days you supported your local team because that was how far your dad was prepared to take you on a Saturday.

"Frankly, Palace had the better kit at the time and that was it - the curse was laid then."

Graham Moody: What was your first game?

Steve Parish: "Palace against Chelsea in 1973, it was Jim Cannon's debut, I think.

"We won 2-0 but I think we got relegated that year.

"I remember being absolutely terrified when I came out with my dad.

"I was about seven years old and in those days before your dad would risk taking you to football you had to be a certain size.

"I remember being terrified trying to get out as the crowd was huge and the fans were still a little bit different to how they are now."

Graham Moody: Do you still go to most games now?

Steve Parish: "Business allowing, I come to all the home games.

"I don't go to many away games, I sometimes go to the bigger ones.

"I have a season ticket so come to as many games as I can and that won't change."
