A community circus planning to pitch up at Kingston Fairfield and provide the finale to next month’s International Youth Arts Festival is looking for community, sports and arts groups to take part in the show.

Circus Suburbia and Swamp Circus will set up the big top on Thursday, July 8, and hold two days of workshops in circus skills, sports and art activities before rehearsals and show time on Sunday, July 11.

Groups, families and individuals with skills can take part through performance, puppet making, set dressing, and activities will include trapeze, BMX, parkour, hula hoop and juggling.

The group is also looking for submissions of art relating to the river and objects from the Thames for a picnic, art viewing and story telling at 7pm on July 11, before the main show at 8pm.

The free event is funded by Arts Council England. Email mail@circussuburbia.co.uk for more information, or to volunteer to distribute leaflets or steward the three day event.
