A man and woman were injured in a terrifying and unprovoked attack at a bus stop in Tolworth Broadway in the early hours of Saturday, June 12.

They were assaulted by as many as 15 people, aged between 18 and 25, and the woman, 55, was taken to Kingston Hospital as a priority case.

A police spokesman said the group appeared drunk, and started their assault at about 12.30am, by calling the victims’ names.

They said: “Apparently one of the youths threw a bottle which hit her on the head. It appeared to totally unprovoked.”

Police did not wish to issue an official appeal for witnesses, because they were following up on leads.
