Residents can expect to see a new face on police patrol in Epsom and Ewell.

The area’s Safer Neighbourhood Team has welcomed new PCSO Simon Tillman to the beat in Epsom and Ewell South.

Simon decided to join Surrey Police after working for 18 months as a service advisor for Volkswagen where he was used to meeting the public face to face.

A keen footballer and follower of motorcycle track racing, PCSO Tillman said he was looking forward to getting to know his new patch.

"I can’t wait to meet and interact with the public and help make our community a safer place, if you happen to see me out and about please come and say hello," he said.

"My priorities over the coming months will be to tackle anti-social driving in Epsom and Ewell South which is a problem that is not only dangerous to pedestrians and other road users but to the drivers themselves.

"I shall be working closely with my colleague Police Community Support Officers(PCSO) Paul Thomas and want people in Epsom and Ewell South to be reassured that their safer neighbourhood team is doing all it can to ensure their safety.

"The next Neighbourhood Panel meetings are in September and this will be a good opportunity for me to meet the local community. I am looking forward to working and meeting you all so please come and say hello."

The next Neighbourhood Panel meetings are set for September 6 at 8pm at The Wells Centre, Spa Drive, for the Wells Estate residents, and September 7 at 8pm at The Holiday Inn, Epsom Downs, for residents of Langley Vale, Woodcote College and Stamford.
