A group of students packed other people's bags to get moving on a community project.
Members of the Prince’s Trust Team Programme, a personal development programme for unemployed 16-25 year olds, set out to redecorate the communal lounge and kitchen at Norman Colyer Court in Ewell as part of the scheme.
But first the group needed to raise money for the tools to complete the job, so they took to the tills.
"We did this by spending a day bag packing at Morrison’s supermarket in Sutton, where we raised £327," explained a group spokesman.
"We also contacted local DIY businesses for donations and or discounts which we received from Travis Perkins in Ewell and Wickes in Epsom."
Now, the work is underway to help residents at Norman Colyer Court.
The spokesman added: "We have been working hard and hope that when we have finished, the lounge will be a space that residents can relax and socialise in."
