One person has been taken to Kingston Hospital following a town centre collision between a lorry and a car outside the Cromwell Road bus station.
Two fire engines and a rescue unit with heavy cutting equipment were called to the incident at 10.02am.
A fire service spokesman said the incident, which left traffic on the one-way system south of the Rotunda at standstill for half an hour, was now over, although units were still on the scene.
Traffic is currently reduced to one lane in Cromwell Road and being diverted through the bus station, with disruption expected to last for some time to come.
