A bowls club has celebrated its 75th anniversary with a full day of events.
Councillor David Pay, Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, cut the birthday cake at the celebrations of Banstead Neville Bowls Club on Bank Holiday Monday.
Chairman Barbara Belcher and Captains Sandra Tracey and Owen Thorpe, together with a team of helpers, ensured that around 80 members enjoyed a day of bowling, lunch and a strawberries and cream tea.
The club’s oldest member, Mason Woodrow, 97, attended, as well as the club’s youngest, Natasha Elliott, who is in her twenties.
The club plays bowls every day from May to September and social activities continue all year round with barn dances, dinners, themed evenings, table tennis, art classes, crafts, quizzes and whist drives.
