A man who stabbed to death a scaffolder in a Sutton pub garden has been jailed for a minimum of 22 years this morning.

Lee Cooper, 25, of Typhoon Way, Wallington, was yesterday found guilty by an Old Bailey jury of the murder of David Stevenson, 28, at the New Inn pub on August 9 last year.

A judge jailed him for life to serve a minimum of 22 years before being considered for parole.

His father Anthony Cooper, 57, of the same address, who appeared in court alongside his son, was acquitted of both murder and manslaughter and was in court to see his son jailed.
