By Community Correspondent William Caruana Three girls from Surbiton High School have won a place to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of Her Majesty the Queen and a share of £100,000 after performing as a part of their gymnastics group ‘Spellbound’. The group won the nation’s favourite talent show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. Abi Ralph, 16, Katie Axten, 17 and Amy Mackenzie, 12, only had days to work out a routine after progressing from the semi final rounds but stunned the public and the judges with their act. The group ‘Spellbound’ beat hundreds of thousands of other contestants to win the competition with a breathtaking performance in the final. Judge Simon Cowell said, “Putting that into Olympic terms, that would have won the gold medal. I can only say on live TV that was one of the most astonishing things I have every seen.” Judge Amanda Holden added, “It was absolutely faultless. The skipping rope, the somersaults, some of the stuff that was going on, I didn't think was humanly possible. Outstanding."

The girls, part of a group of 13, performed in front of a national audience live on ITV 1 last Saturday which was watched by no less than 14 million viewers. Spellbound gained a whopping 62.4% of the vote with millions voting for them. The girls can’t wait and are very excited about their forthcoming performance at the Royal Variety show later this year.
