Dozens of young environmentalists spent a morning next to Seven Post Pond in Wimbledon Common searching for water life.
The members of the Wimbledon Common’s Nature Club found everything from diving beetles to ramshorn snails and hoglice during the pond dipping session on Sunday, June 6.
Group leader Auriel Glanville said: “We had a wonderful morning pond dipping and especially the children who had never dipped before and were amazed at all the life we found in the water.”
The club meets again on Sunday, July 4 to look at butterflies and moths. Call 020 8540 6154 for more information.
