Chessington Zoo has been using unusual methods to explain the 'offslide' rule to visitors during the world cup in South Africa.

Giant African Land Snails and Red-Footed Tortoises were used as players for the demonstration, captured in the pictures below.

And reptile keeper Keith Russell said there was now no excuse for not knowing the rules.

He said: "It's our attempt to explain the rule in a memorable way so football fans can watch the game in peace without interuption from uninformed onlookers.

"We couldn't believe our eyes when one of the tortoises, a species native to Argentina, decided to recreate the infamous 'hand of God' goal during the photo shoot."
