A multicultural summer fayre will be held at St Boniface Primary School in Tooting on Saturday, July 3.

Local MP Sadiq Khan will open the event, held between noon and 4pm in Undine Street at a cost of £1 per family.

The fayre, which includes entertainment, food and a licensed bar, aims to reflect the diversity of the wider community in Tooting.

Attractions will include an inflatable slide and bungee run, tombolas, arts and crafts, police horses as well as raffles, auctions and a wheel of fortune.

As part of the programme of events, there will be a street dance, as well as a Tamil dance performed by two nine-year-old girls in traditional costumes.

Paying homage to its Latin American community, the St Boniface Cha Cha Cha group will put on a Latino dance display.

There will also be Irish dancing, as well as line dancing lessons from older members of the community.

Fionnola Toogood, parent, said: “It's all about celebrating what's rich, creative and fun in our school and in our community.”
