A veteran walker has taken Robin Hood as the inspiration for his latest charity trek.
Mitcham man John Dodd travelled 295 miles from Sherwood Road in Merton Park to Robin Hood Bay in North Yorkshire. The 20-day challenge finished on June 6.
The adventure raised about £2,800 for good causes including Macmillan Cancer Support, the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and animal and hospice charities.
The Haslemere Avenue resident was backed along the way by celebrities including the cast of Emmerdale - and pub chain Wetherspoons offered him a free meal on almost every day of his journey.
