Volunteers are needed to make sure a space-themed reading scheme gets the perfect lift off.
The summer reading scheme begins at Merton’s libraries on July 17. Children will be challenged to read six books, with prizes on offer if they complete the task.
Volunteers aged 14 and over are needed to help young space cadets register for the project and find their perfect books.
Merton Council’s director of community and housing, Simon Williams, said: “Our libraries run some great community projects, which really help to educate our children in a fun way. This is the perfect opportunity for residents to get involved, whether they have a bit of spare time or are looking for more work experience.’ For more information visit merton.gov.uk/libraries.
