Residents are urged to donate their clean trash towards a carnival float made by swimmers at Tooting Bec Lido.
Taking as its theme Seasons at the Lido, the float will be made during a series of workshops for the whole swimming community.
Organisers are asking for those in the community good at sculpting, art, sewing and knitting to help make the float and costumes.
Workshops will be held in Furzedown, Streatham and Tooting in June and July.
Useful materials will include plastic bags, bottles, bubble wrap, foil, coat hangers and string.
Residents should bring clean trash to Tooting Bec Lido on Sunday mornings or any of the workshops.
The Lido Cafe has a collection point for plastic bottles.
Tooting Bec Lido is a cold water, open air swimming pool on Tooting Bec Common and hosts national championships every year.
