Thousands flocked to Merton’s green spaces to enjoy their first taste of the summer as the mercury hit 27C over the weekend - hotter than Cairo.
Weathermen are already saying we could be in for one of the best summers in years with bookmakers reducing the odds to 10-1 on the UK’s highest recorded temperature of 38C (101.3F) being beaten.
